Tyler McDonough and Max Ferguson smacked two-run homers during a five-run eighth inning that propelled the Portland Sea Dogs to a 9-6 win over the Hartford Yard Goats in an Eastern League game Wednesday night in Hartford, Connecticut.

Brooks Brannon started Portland’s comeback from a 6-3 deficit when he homered in the seventh — his fourth home run in the last four games.

In the eighth, Miguel Bleis drew a leadoff walk and McDonough tied the game with a drive over the fence in center field. Nelly Taylor followed with a double, and Ferguson reached the upper deck in right field for his fifth home run of the season.

Nate Baez capped the rally by driving home Franklin Arias with his second double of the game.

Patrick Halligan (1-0) was credited with the win after throwing two scoreless innings in relief of Gage Ziehl. Cade Feeney worked two perfect innings for the save, striking out four.

Bleis, McDonough, Taylor and Ferguson all had two hits from the bottom four spots in the lineup.
