Marie (Arsenault) Quimby

MADISON – Marie Arsenault Quimby went to meet Jesus on May 4, 2026, after a short battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family, whom she loved very much.

Marie was born on Oct. 10, 1954, to Norman and Jeanette (Pomelow) Arsenault. She married Gerald “Jerry” Quimby on July 28, 1973, and they spent 53 happy years together.

Marie raised her family, Shawn and Erin, and when the kids got old enough, she went to work for Redington-Fairview General Hospital for 25 years. She retired in 2014 to travel some with Jerry. She most loved her trip to Alaska and always said she would go back in a minute. Marie loved knitting, quilting, and all sorts of crafts, which she made for family and friends. She also loved to read books and had all of Stephen King’s books. But mostly, she loved watching her children and grandchildren play sports. I know she is watching Kodi at the nationals with his college track team, and she is also watching Reggan with her softball team.

For the last six months, Marie and Jerry could be found on the River Road in Solon watching and taking pictures of the eagles in the gravel pit.

Marie was predeceased by her parents, Norman and Jeanette; her in-laws, Norman and Arvetta Quimby; her brothers-in-law, Norman Quimby Jr., James Quimby Sr., and Wallace Wooster, and her sister-in-law, Jean Wooster.

Marie is survived by her loving husband, Jerry; her son, Shawn Quimby (Heather), her daughter, Erin Quimby Kerr (Greg); her sister, Bernadette Leblanc (Harold), her brother, Edward Arsenault (Christine); and her very special grandchildren, Kodi and Reggan Quimby. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Jane Wooster, and her brother-in-law, Johnny Quimby (Rochelle).

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to MaineGeneral Hospice for their compassion and guidance to both Marie and her family.

Memorial services will be held at Christ Community Fellowship Church on Maple Street in Madison on May 23 at 11 a.m.
