Michael A. Cameron

WINTHROP – Michael A. Cameron, 80, of Winthrop died on Thursday, May 7, 2026, following an extended illness, with friends by his side.

Michael was born in Boston, on Sept. 25, 1945, the son of the late Herbert A. and Dorothy G. (Hannon) Cameron. He graduated from Maine Central Institute and then graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine at Orono.

Mike married KathyLu Bisson on Oct. 19, 1973.

Mike did geological field work in Maine and Australia for North American Exploration from 1965 to 1972. He was a manager for Style-Rite Heel from 1972-1974 then began his 33-year career with Avery Dennison as an account manager where he excelled, winning many sales awards. He retired from Avery Dennison in 2007.

Mike was an avid outdoorsman who loved spending time in the woods of Maine where he became a Master Maine Guide. He was very athletic and had a passion for running and cycling, competing in many team triathlons and individual events, regularly winning in his age group. Mike was a man of many hobbies and interests that involved skill, talent and patience.

Mike was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Cameron.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Lu Cameron of Waterville; a son, Christopher Cameron and his wife Janine of Minot; three nieces, Terri, Tracy and Jami; as well as many special friends.

Services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements and guidance are under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop.
