My family was burdened with medical debt for 20 years following an unexpected heart attack, because our insurance was deceptively inadequate. That debt has had significant consequences for our retirement security. Once we were eligible for Medicare, our cardiac care became completely affordable, and has saved my life more than once.

Wood believes everyone in Maine, and in our country, has a right to good affordable healthcare. He will fight for us. Unlike many members of Congress, he is not beholden to the medical insurance lobby. He has the right experience from his prior time in Washington, D.C., and a deep commitment to keep focus on making Medicare for All finally happen.
