The Janzen Boys

Don’t miss The Janzen Boys concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Johnson Hall Opera House, 280 Water St. in Gardiner.

The father-and-son-led folk/roots trio is from Winnipeg, Manitoba, known for their tight three-part harmonies, heartfelt songs, and touching live shows.

Since 2024, the band has toured throughout Canada, steadily building a loyal following through captivating live performances and a grassroots approach to connecting with listeners online. 

This show will take place on the Logan Stage (first floor).

The Tin Woman

Aqua City Actors Theater is set to present “The Tin Woman,” by Sean Grennan at The Playhouse at Waterville Station, 17 Waterville Square, Waterville.

About the play by Sean Grennan: A heartfelt blend of humor and humanity that invites audiences to laugh, cry and reflect on the messy, miraculous ways people find their way back to life.

The story follows Joy, a woman struggling to embrace her second chance after a heart transplant. Haunted by questions she can’t shake, she seeks out the grieving family of her donor. What begins as an awkward, emotionally charged encounter slowly unfolds into a journey of healing for everyone involved.

Arrested Development

The Waterville Opera House plans to host Arrested Development at 8 p.m. Friday at 1 Common St., Waterville.

The Hip-hop band has been cultural champions of consciousness and empowerment. Their representation of eclectic and vibrant African sounds and clothing has produced a unique clash of rhythms and style that continue to contrast the expected look and sound of hip-hop culture.

Auditions: ‘Macbeth

Lights Up Productions is set to hold auditions for “Macbeth,” a Shakespeare in the Park event, from 2-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Skowhegan Opera House, 225 Main St., Skowhegan.

Ages 6-plus are welcome. Auditions are cold reads, no preparation required. Ensemble and nonspeaking roles are available.

The renowned singer-songwriter’s career as a professional musician spans more than five decades, encompassing performance, songwriting, recording and teaching. Often described as equal parts Mark Twain, college professor and musical icon, Livingston maintains an active touring schedule of more than 100 shows a year.

Livingston has penned Top-40 hits recorded by his brother James Taylor and over the years has shared the stage with artists such as Joni Mitchell, Linda Ronstadt, Fleetwood Mac and Jimmy Buffett.

The Bowl in the Pines Amphitheather is set to host Ty Myers: The Legal Tour at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at 1 Geranium Lane in Sidney.

The singer-songwriter-guitarist quickly commanded attention after delivering his acclaimed debut album, “The Select,” earning three RIAA certifications including his first platinum hit with “Ends of the Earth.” 

Set to make his Stagecoach debut and support Luke Combs’ My Kinda Saturday Night Tour at stadiums this spring, he’s previously opened for Randy Rogers Band, Wade Bowen, Old Dominion, Tim McGraw and Willie Nelson, among others.

Jot it down: Maine Fiber Frolic

Check out the Maine Fiber Frolic from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 5 and 6, at the Windsor Fairgrounds, Route 32 in Windsor.

The event is produced by a committee of volunteers and fiber enthusiasts to promote education, understanding and appreciation of fiber farms, fiber artists, and other small farming ventures. 

Admission will cost $5 for adults or $8 for a two-day pass, $2 for seniors and is free for children younger than 12.
