Johanfran Garcia hit a run-scoring single in the first inning and a solo homer in the fifth, and Marvin Alcantara drove in three runs Wednesday night to lead the Portland Sea Dogs to a 9-4 victory over the Reading Fightin Phils at Hadlock Field.
Garcia’s single produced the first run in a three-run first, and Alcantara hit a two-run double in a four-run second as the Sea Dogs (19-21) built a 7-2 lead against the Phils (20-21).
Hayden Mullins (3-1) allowed one hit through five innings for Portland, with Max Carlson and Cade Feeney combining to give one earned run over the final four. The Sea Dogs outhit Reading, 11-5.
