GARDINER – Brenda J. Lavallee, 83, of Marston Road, died peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Maine General Hospital in Augusta following an extended illness.
Brenda was born in Bath, on Nov. 27, 1942, the daughter of the late Roy and Aldana (Sproul) Johnson. She graduated from high school and immediately went to work.
A person who was always willing to do whatever she needed to provide for her family, Brenda, worked several different jobs. For many years she worked in packaging for the Kirschner Company. She also worked at Reny’s in downtown Gardiner and Dave’s Diner; she was never one to remain idle.
Brenda was a vibrant and loving person who always put others’ needs ahead of her own. She loved the time when she was surrounded by her family and friends. Whether it was a holiday gathering, a special occasion or someone just stopped by to say hello, She was always happy to see you.
Brenda was predeceased by her husband; Alfred G. Lavallee; two sons; Mitchell Collins Jr. and Jeffrey Collins Sr. She is survived by two stepsons, Paul Lavallee of Gardiner and Mark and Robin Lavallee of Augusta; stepdaughters; Susan and Dwayne Furlong of West Gardiner, Pamela Merritt of Augusta and Jayne Morang of Chelsea; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother; Robert Johnson of Gardiner; several nieces and nephews.
At Brenda’s request all services will be private. Arrangements and guidance are under the care of Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Ave, Gardiner.
