HALLOWELL – David W. Dunn, 82, entered eternal rest on June 1, 2026, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center at Gray Birch with his loving family by his side. He was born in Augusta, Maine, on June 17, 1943, a son of the late Frank L. and Genevieve C (Collins) Dunn.

Mr. Dunn was a Cony High School graduate and attended Maine Central Institute, Lyndon College and Colby College.

He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church where he was Lector, CCD Instructor, passed the basket at Sunday Mass and helped on various committees.

Mr. Dunn had been employed by the State of Maine for 35 years, working in the Department of Human Services as a Program Analyst. He also worked at the Department of Transportation, Union #51 as a 3rd grade teacher and the Kennebec Valley Mental Health Center.

He was predeceased by his twin brother, Robert, his brother, Richard and wife Bonnie, and sister-in-law, Marcia Kenney.

Mr. Dunn is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda D. (Packard) Dunn of Hallowell; his daughter, Staci L. Gustin and her husband Jay of Winthrop; four grandchildren, David and Catherine Gustin of Winthrop, Alex Gustin of Augusta and Taylor Gustin of Topsham; sister-in-law June Dunn of Augusta, two brothers-in-law, James Packard and his wife Sherry of Wickenburg, Ariz. and John Kenney of Cypress, Texas; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no public visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 15 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Western Avenue, Augusta. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME.
