Regional School Unit 78’s residents Tuesday approved next year’s $6.09 million budget, with all four school district communities supporting the new spending plan.
The vote tallies from each municipality were: Rangeley 345-151, Dallas Plantation 103-26, Sandy River Plantation 52-18 and Rangeley Plantation 56-30.
The budget is $194,000 more than the 2025-26 budget, reflecting a 3.3% increase.
The largest single increase — $154,214 — was for regular instruction, which covers teachers’ salaries and benefits. Other key changes were in student/staff support, with a decrease of $71,031, and in facilities and maintenance, with an increase of $46,558.
In the school board election, Tamara Flewelling was reelected with 331 votes, while Kayla Rioux won an open seat with 309 votes.
