More than 500 Rangeley voters took to the polls June 9 to weigh the proposed $11.88 million budget. Of the 78 budget articles, all but four were approved.
The four articles that voters rejected were for allocating $77,600 from the undesignated fund toward a new vehicle for the police department; permitting the town to raise and allocate $284,161 for planning; allowing the town to raise and appropriate $150,487 for a public services director; and appropriating $4,800 for Rangeley Wild.
Voters approved spending $165,000 for town office roof repairs, new bay doors for the public safety building and dock slips at Town Cove Park. They also said yes to releasing $1.35 million from the TIF project account to fund future updates to Rangeley’s Town Cove Park and Oquossoc Park.
