CHINA VILLAGE – Johnna Helen Diehl of China Village, Maine passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026 at the age of 85.
Johnna was born on Feb. 28, 1941 in Waterville, to Raoul and Lorette Violette. Johnna graduated from Mount Merici High School in Waterville and then went on to become a registered nurse at Mercy School of Nursing in Portland, Maine. After graduating, Johnna spent her nursing career as an operating room nurse at Seton Hospital in Waterville.
In January of 1972 she married Dr. William H. Diehl Jr. Together they raised their two boys. Johnna loved working in her flower gardens, reading, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, William; her son, John and his wife Aindrea, and grandsons Anderson and Harrison of Rome; and her son, Stephen of Goffstown, N.H. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Lu and husband Eddie Cantin of Laconia, N.H., her sister, Jane and husband Gary Johnston of Dallas, Ore., her brother, William Violette and wife Terry of Waterville; her goddaughter, Colleen Cantin Madden of Woolwich; and many cousins; nieces and nephews.
