Wesley Danforth
MONMOUTH – Wesley Danforth, 71, passed away on June 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of outdoor adventure, deep resilience, and a profound love for his family.
Born in Lewiston, on Oct. 29, 1954, Wesley spent his life rooted in the communities he loved. He grew up in Monmouth, the town he always proudly called home, where he developed a lifelong passion for the rugged beauty of the Maine wilderness.
Wesley was a true outdoorsman who found his greatest peace and joy in nature. Whether he was casting a line into a quiet lake, tracking through the woods on a hunt, camping under the stars, or exploring beneath the surface while scuba diving, he embraced the spirit of adventure. When he wasn’t out in the woods or on the water, he was a big NASCAR fan who loved watching the races and cheering on his favorite driver, Tony Stewart.
More than the activities themselves, Wesley cherished the chance to share these passions with his family. Many of his happiest memories were spent side-by-side with his boys, Wesley and Michael, teaching them the
ways of the woods and waters, and creating unforgettable bonds on their camping and fishing trips. He was an incredibly proud father, carrying immense pride for his son Wesley’s service in the Armed Forces. His
strength, life lessons, and love for the outdoors will live on through both of his sons.
He is survived by his beloved sons, Wesley Danforth and Michael Danforth and his wife Kaytee; and his six cherished grandchildren, Gage, Gear, Lexi, Tatum, Luna, and Marjorie, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon, and her husband, Ron Grant; and his nephews, Doug and Jonathan Grant. He was predeceased by his parents.
There will be a visitation on Monday June 29, from 4-6 p.m., at Funeral Alternatives 25 Tampa St. Lewiston, ME 04240.
