Susan Collins has done incredibly good things for the state of Maine and its citizens during her tenure.
Let’s look at just one of her accomplishments, which resulted in significant benefit for thousands of Maine citizens as well as people around the country. In 2024, Collins was the driving force behind adoption of the Social Security Fairness Act. Many Mainers who have worked both in state and private sector jobs were not being allowed to collect the full Social Security benefits they had earned over the years. For many, this was cutting their total retirement income practically in half. This has been an issue for decades, now finally resolved.
This is just one of the many positive results that Sen. Collins has brought to our state. Now, as chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, she’s in a strong position to help Maine even more than she has in the past. It takes years to earn this kind of prestige and power in Washington, D.C. Sen. Collins has earned our support time and again. I’ll be supporting her this year.
