Despite the heat on July 3, crowds packed Rangeley as families and friends staked out spots to watch the fireworks show in Town Cove Park as early as 10 a.m.
On Main Street, the Doll Carriage Parade brought out local businesses and individuals with decorated wagons to march through downtown.
Following the parade, Rangeley Health and Wellness’ Duck Drop Race was held in the Haley Pond sluiceway. As soon as the rubber ducks hit the water, kids ran from one side of the street to the other to watch as the toys rushed toward Rangeley Lake.
In the evening, Rangeley held the largest fireworks display in the state over the lake to close out the night.
