Nina Sergeeva

RICHMOND – Nina Sergeeva, a lifelong resident of Richmond, passed away peacefully at the age of 72.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Xenia and Apollon Sergeeva. Having no surviving immediate family, Nina leaves behind many dear friends whose lives she touched throughout the Richmond community.

Nina was an avid reader and a devoted patron of her local library. She found great joy in books and loved walking through her hometown, where she became a familiar and friendly face to many.

Proud of her Russian heritage, Nina cherished her roots and maintained close friendships within Richmond’s Russian community. Throughout her life, the Russian community provided unwavering friendship, kindness, and support to both Nina and her mother, and those relationships remained deeply meaningful to her.

During the last ten years of her life, Nina received compassionate care in local nursing homes, where she was treated with dignity, kindness, and compassion.

Nina will be remembered for her gentle spirit, quiet strength, her love of learning, and the many friendships she cultivated over the years. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and cared for her.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the Russian Orthodox Church, Church St., Richmond, with burial to follow at Richmond Cemetery.
