On July 8, news sources reported that, once again, President Trump was declaring a ceasefire “over.” Two days later,  bombs are falling and threats are escalating in one of the most volatile regions of the world, with no end, or even a goal, in sight.

America’s and the world’s fate is the hands of a malignant narcissist because our government — with all its vaunted checks and balances and respect for the rule of law — has proven itself incapable, or unwilling, to hold ourselves accountable as a nation. I have written my representatives with one simple message: Congress must act immediately to seize control of this unauthorized war.

What more can we do?  I can urge everyone who reads this letter to act by calling or writing Sens. Collins and King and Rep. Pingree (or Rep. Golden if they live in District 2) with the same message. We must use the power we have as voters to demand our elected representatives use the power we elected them to exercise.
