Saturday’s wintry mix of weather forced visits with Santa at Waterville’s Kringleville to be shortened to noon to 3 p.m., event organizers said.
The visits take place at The Center, downtown, and were scheduled from noon to 3 p.m., then 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., in the event sponsored by Waterville Main Street. The second shift with Santa and Mrs. Clause is off because of the weather, said Jenn Olsen, of Waterville Main Street. She said the regular schedule for Kringleville visits will resume Sunday.
A steady mix of snow and freezing rain fell on the area Saturday morning and was forecast to continue, changing to rain, through the afternoon.
