SKOWHEGAN — Isaac Witham scored 18 points and Cam Barnes added 12 as the Skowhegan boys basketball team edged Bangor 48-46 in overtime in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Thursday night.
DeQuan Frost contributed eight points for the Indians, who improved to 2-3.
Andrew Hillier scored 15 points and Justin Smith added 13 to lead Bangor (1-3).
HAMPDEN 55, LAWRENCE 45: Seth Powers scored 14 points, but it wasn’t enough for the Bulldogs, who fell to the Broncos in a KVAC A game in Hampden.
Dustin Simpson-Bragg scored 10 points while Mason Cooper added eight for Lawrence (0-4).
Jake Black led Hampden (4-1) with 16 points.
MADISON 79, MT. ABRAM 31: Madison opened the game on an 18-0 run and never looked back to earn the Mountain Valley Conference victory.
Chase Malloy scored 14 points and Ty Cowan added 10 to pace the Bulldogs (5-1).
Derek LeBlanc added nine points.
Quinton Hanna led the Roadrunners (1-3) with 13 points.
TEMPLE 44, HIGHVIEW CHRISTIAN 4: Patrick Blaisdell scored nine points to lead Temple to the win in Waterville.
Bradley Smith added eight points for Temple (2-3). TJ Sheldon scored all four points for Highview Christian (0-4).
MT. ARARAT 61, MT. BLUE 40: Zack Mittelstadt scored 15 points, but the Cougars fell to the Eagles in a KVAC A game in Farmington.
Alex Bunnell and Brad Durrell each had eight points for Mt. Blue (1-4).
Mason Griffin scored 22 points for Mt. Ararat (2-3).
GIRLS BASKETBALL
LAWRENCE 79, HAMPDEN 46: Nia Irving had 26 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs to a KVAC A win over the Broncos in Hampden.
Dominique Lewis scored 22 points, while Paige Belanger added 11 points for Lawrence (4-0).
Hampden falls to 2-2.
EDWARD LITTLE 55, MESSALONSKEE 42: The Eddies outscored the Eagles 33-24 in the second half to earn the KVAC A win in Auburn.
Emily Jacques scored a game-high 22 points to lead Edward Little (4-1).
Sophie Holmes led Messalonskee (2-3) with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Ally Turner added 12 points.
FOREST HILLS 70, BUCKFIELD 58: Linda Riley scored a game-high 23 points and Sammy Begin added 14 to lead Forest Hills to the Western D victory in Buckfield.
Keely Taylor and Caitlyn Logston each chipped in with nine points for the Tigers (4-1) as well.
Brianna Damon and Alyssa Therriault each scored 15 to pace Buckfield (2-2).
TEMPLE 47, HIGHVIEW CHRISTIAN 20: Vironica Rossignol scored 18 points and Selam Heinrich added 12 to lead Temple to the Western D victory in Waterville.
Temple improved to 2-2.
Megan Mcdonald scored 12 points to lead Highview Christian.
