On Feb. 22, my wife of 40-plus years, lost her battle, which started with a stroke and ended with the flu.

I would like thank the certified nursing assistants and aides who helped her through this past year. These people who are the lowest paid (barely over minimum wage) are the ones who get their hands dirty, while those above them say, “It’s not my job.” I saw and heard this many times over the past year.

We all should think about this and ask ourselves who will take care of us and at what cost.

I have nothing but praise for those CNAs and aides.
