DIXFIELD — Matt Ingram drove in five runs and Mario Meucci got on base five times to lead Winthrop to the Mountain Valley Conference baseball title with an 8-6 victory over Dirigo on Thursday.

It is the Ramblers’ first MVC championship since 2008. They will enter the Western C playoffs as the No. 2 seed with a 14-2 record.

Meucci had two doubles, two walks and was hit by a pitch and scored three runs while Ingram went 3-for-4 to lead the Ramblers offensively. Ben Allen picked up the complete game win, staving off a late Dirigo rally to close it out.

Mitch Kubesh led Dirigo (15-1) with two hits and three runs scored.
