WINTHROP — A Mount Vernon woman was injured Sunday when she rolled her car on Stanley Road.

Vicki Reid, 59, was taken by ambulance to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta with unspecified injuries, said interim Police Chief Ryan Frost of the Winthrop Police. A hospital spokeswoman confirmed Reid was treated at the hospital but was no longer there.

The crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. as Reid was driving south on Stanley Road in her 1999 Buick Century. Reid lost control of the car near 539 Stanley Road and veered off the right side of the road. The car hit a culvert and rolled over before coming to a rest on its wheels, Frost said.

Winthrop Fire and Ambulance helped Reid from the vehicle, but she did not have to be cut out, Frost said.

The crash caused “heavy damage” to the front of the Buick.

The road remained open except for a brief period as the car was loaded onto a wrecker.
