Bluegrass/country trio Stan Keach, Dan Simons and July Churchill will bring their unique brand of country/folk/bluegrass singing and picking from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 11, to the park-like backyard of Mosher’s Seafood-N’-More, 595 Farmington Falls Road, U.S. Route 2, Farmington.
They are better known as 2/3 of the Sandy River Ramblers, an area bluegrass band. The trio also is part of the Maranacook String Band, and Keach and Simons have played many times in the region as a duo, according to a news release from the from the group.
Keach, on guitar, is a nationally-known bluegrass songwriter who in recent years has concentrated on songs about Maine. He has released a CD, “Cry of the Loon” and other original songs about Maine. Simons, on mandolin, is a virtuoso instrumentalist and a gifted harmony and lead singer. Churchill, on upright bass, also sings.
Belgrade Lakes area singer/songwriter Joey Charles will share the bill with the trio. Admission is free, and takeout food will be available for sale for the duration of the show.
