PITTSFIELD — A boil-water order issued last week because of possibly unsafe water after a break in a large water line on Main Street has been lifted effective Thursday. The water is now safe for consumption, according to a news release from Pittsfield Water Works.
The order was in effect from 689 to 798 Main St., including Country Estates Mobile Home Park and Reynolds Park.
Pittsfield Water Works experienced difficulties with water pressure Aug. 13 because of the water main break on Main Street, according to the town.
All consumers in the area were directed to boil water for at least five minutes before drinking, making ice cubes, washing food, brushing teeth or doing any other activity involving consumption of water, according to the order.
Any questions about the order should be directed to 487-3136.
