Good editorial about Paul LePage (“LePage’s penchant for abusing power seems unending,” Oct. 10).

We absolutely must rid ourselves of this scourge of corruption and stupidity of minority rule by installing run-off or ranked-choice voting. A new system would eliminate election by a minority of voters — 38 percent, 48 percent. See where it gets us.

Need I remind readers that George W. Bush got into office after losing the popular vote by 540,000 votes in 2000? And we’re going to live with the consequences of that for the rest of our lives.
