WATERVILLE — Police responded to a report of the death of a 61-year-old man on Boothby Street Wednesday morning.

A neighbor called police to report the death shortly before 7 a.m., Waterville police Sgt. William Bonney said. The body was found outdoors in front of a single-family home at 5 Boothby St.

The man died of natural causes, but police initially believed the death was suspicious because of a large amount of blood at the scene, Bonney said. The attending doctor explained the reason for the blood, and the death is not being treated as suspicious, Bonney said.

Police are not releasing the man’s name because the next of kin has not been contacted.
