FAIRFIELD — Kennebec Montessori School will host Lyn Mikel Brown and Mark Tappan, authors of “Packaging Girlhood” and “Packaging Boyhood,” from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at the school, 38 Sherican Drive.

In their books, Brown and Tappan, who are Colby College professors of education, shed light on the many ways that media messages stereotype and package gender roles targeting children, and their parents. They will share their research and facilitate a conversation for parents on navigating the pressures of commercialism during the holiday season.
