A pair of central Maine residents were among the 27 Unity College graduates who received degrees Friday as the fall semester ended.

Among those receiving degrees at Friday night’s commencement ceremony were Sean J. Andrews, of Pittsfield, with a bachelor of science degree in wildlife biology; and Sasha B. Hamlin, of Unity, with a bachelor of science in secondary education/life science.

“These newest Unity College alumni are well-prepared environmental leaders eager to help solve the most pressing environmental problems of the present and future,” said President-elect Melik Peter Khoury on Friday in a news release from the college. “We are proud of what they have achieved and expect to hear from them as they embark on the next exciting chapter in their lives.”

The school, located in Unity, holds commencement in the fall and the spring. It enrolls about 650 full-time students and focuses on the environment and sustainability sciences. It celebrated its 50th anniversary this year.
