I was suprised to see reports that Congress doesn’t see a way to stop 5,000 percent hikes in price for a medicine.
A new law isn’t needed. Anti-trust laws have been used to force companies to give up purchased assets that were being used to allow monopolistic pricing.
This would seem to be a classic example. The argument against squeezing the profits of a company that makes investments, and risks loss to develop new medicines, do not apply at all to a case like this.
