NORTHFIELD, Vermont. — Teresa Segreti scored with 5:07 remaining in the third overtime to lift Norwich University to a 9-8 victory over Thomas College in women’s lacrosse action on Wednesday.
Thomas’ MacKenzie Peatfield finished with four goals and two assists and scored the game-tying goal with 42 seconds left in regulation. Erin Nelligan and Samantha Greenlaw added two goals apiece for the Terriers (0-2). Brittany Fox made 13 saves for Thomas. Segreti had three goals for Norwich (1-0).
SOFTBALL
WESTERN MICHIGAN 8, MAINE 5: Rachel Harvey had two hits and drove in three runs but the University of Maine fell short against Western Michigan in a softball slugfest in Clearwater, Florida.
Janelle Bouchard also had two hits, scored two runs and drove in one for Maine (2-2), while Erika Leonard chipped in with a pair of hits, a run scored and stolen base.
