The Maine Chapter of the International Thomas Merton Society will hold its biannual meeting at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at St. Sebastian Church, 161 Main St., Madison.

The society aims to promote a greater knowledge of the life and writings of Catholic monk and author Thomas Merton, who focused on faith, peace, and interreligious dialogue in his works. The Maine chapter was established in 2015 to learn and share how Merton can be relevant in today’s world, according to a news release from the society.

Marilyn Sunderman, RSM, chair of the theology department at Saint Joseph’s College, will serve as the guest speaker.

For more information, contact Chapter Coordinator Cynthia Brackett-Vincent at 778-0467 or [email protected].
