Highlights of the Corinna Town Meeting and election, held Saturday.

BUDGET: $1,325,891, approved

MAJOR ITEMS APPROVED: $189,144 for administration, $282,733 for debt service, $69,108 for Fire Department operations, $121,550 for Mid-Maine Solid Waste, $323,630 for public works. Residents also voted to authorize the town to continue as a member of the Municipal Review Committee, which represents communities that send waste to the Penobscot Energy Recovery Company, or PERC; and approved changes to the bylaws of the committee. With the PERC contract set to expire in 2018, residents also authorized the MRC committee to make decisions on behalf of the town with regards to the future of their solid waste contract.

MAJOR ITEMS REJECTED: $25,000 to provide discounts for early payments on tax bills

ELECTIONS: Brent Mullis and Barbara Marshall were elected to the Board of Selectmen; Chad Stratton and Jody Mullis were elected to the board of directors of Regional School Unit 19.
