OAKLAND — The Messalonskee football team followed up its big win at Cony with another impressive performance, this one against Hampden in a 49-7 Pine Tree Conference Class B victory at Veterans Field.

Messalonskee used a strong special teams effort to rout the Broncos (1-2).

“We played well,” Eagles coach Brad Bishop said. “We probably had three punt returns of 50 yards or more, and those all led to touchdowns.”

The win moved the Eagles to 3-0 on the season.

Messalonskee led 35-0 at the half and 42-7 after three quarters. The Eagles play their homecoming game against Brunswick next Friday night.

MADISON 52, BELFAST 8: Nick Morales had three touchdowns and a 75-yard kick return for the Bulldogs (3-0). Sean Whalen added 104 yards rushing and two touchdowns.

SKOWHEGAN 35, NOKOMIS 0: Skowhegan blew open a tight game at the half to win going away.

The Indians led just 7-0 at the half.

“We made a few adjustments on offense and played much better defense in the second half,” Skowhegan coach Matt Friedman said.

The win moves the Indians to 3-0 on the year. They play at Brewer on Friday night.

MCI 50, WASHINGTON 6: MCI stayed perfect on the season with a drubbing of Washington in a Little Ten Conference game.

Willie Moss had 4 carries for 67 yards and a touchdown for MCI. He added a 35-yard touchdown catch.

Eli Bussell had 6 carries for 88 yards and a touchdown and added 13 tackles and an interception on defense. David Young had a nine-yard TD catch for MCI.

The win moves MCI to 3-0 on the season.

BRUNSWICK 58, CONY 14: Halfback Jesse Devereaux threw a 62-yard touchdown pass to Jackson Gordon early in the first quarter and the Dragons (3-0) continued their dominant start to the season with a thumping of the Rams.

Hunter Garrett rushed for a 2-yard touchdown later in the quarter — his first of two in the half — as the Dragons struck early and often to take the showdown.

Cony lost its second straight to drop to 1-2.
