A victim in a Lewiston robbery on Friday shot and wounded one of his assailants, later leading to the alleged robber’s arrest, Lewiston Police have said. Police said a person called for help from 56 Birch St. Friday night about 8:30 p.m., and said he had been approached by two men who followed him into his home. One of the men pulled a knife and attempted to steal the man’s wallet, but he fired several shots at them from a .22 caliber handgun.

Later that evening, police were called to Central Maine Medical Center for a walk-in patient with a gunshot wound.

Abdulahi Abdi was treated and released, and then charged with felony robbery. Abdi, 27, is being held at the Androscoggin County Jail on $10,000 bail, police said.
