In response to the semi-literate Facebook post by the Clay County (W. Va.) Development Corp. director (”West Virginia mayor resigns after racist post,” Nov. 16), I would say that Michelle Obama has been as “classy, beautiful and dignified” a first lady as I can remember, following in a long and distinguished tradition exemplified most notably in our lifetimes by Rosalyn Carter, Nancy Reagan and Barbara Bush.

I would hope that all Americans, regardless of how they voted on Nov. 8, feel the same way.
