A Turner man who died Thursday morning may have fallen victim to a malfunctioning kerosene heater.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the death of Craig Gordon, 52, after his father, Stanley Gordon, discovered his body around 7 a.m. in a camper trailer parked next to the garage of Craig Gordon’s home on Turkey Lane.

The camper was being heated by two kerosene heaters and investigators are examining whether one of the heaters may have malfunctioned, sending thick smoke and soot in the camper. There was no fire.

The State Medical Examiner’s office is examining the circumstances of Gordon’s death.
