Molly Wicwire removes weeds Thursday from a flower garden at the Vaughan Homestead in Hallowell.

Wicwire and other members of the Kennebec Valley Garden Club were sprucing up plots around the community, ahead of the Gardens of the Hallowell Area tour to be held Saturday from 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The club has prepared eight gardens and some pocket gardens in the city.

Tickets may be purchased through Saturday at D.R. Struck, Alden Longfellows, Longfellows Greenhouse and Berry & Berry Floral.
