PITTSFIELD — Unofficial results from Tuesday night’s election showed that voters passed the $11.8 million School Administrative District 53 budget for the 2017-2018 school year.

SAD 53 Superintendent of Schools Jason Tardy said the unofficial results showed the budget passing easily, 150-57, or by nearly a 3-to-1 ratio. Pittsfield residents voted 103-26 in favor; Detroit, 22-12; and Burnham, 25-19.

Tardy said the budget increased 3.2 percent over the current one, an increase of about $366,000. He said the largest contributing factors to the increase were higher insurance premiums and salary hikes.
