With all the important and serious issues that need attention, we still have a few lawmakers trying to defend the ranked-choice voting debacle. I define it as ridiculous-choice voting. Ranked-choice voting came about via a serious flaw in our voting process, allowing big-money out-of-state groups to fund a devious back-door referendum that was not truly understood by many voters.
What’s wrong with our age-old voting system that has served us well for all these years? If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
We have a healthy and varied mix of political viewpoints represented by Democrats, Republicans and independents. If this ever passes, our town voting process and costs will go out of sight.
The only solution to save us is Sen. Garrett Mason’s proposed bill to overturn this ridiculous-choice voting.
