A Livermore Falls man was listed in stable condition Saturday at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston after having been ejected from a car Friday in a single-car crash in Readfield.

Sgt. Galen Estes, of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office, said Arthur Pishkin, 41, who was alone in the vehicle, was taken by Lifeflight helicopter to the hospital. On Saturday, a hospital representative said Pishkin’s condition was stable.

The crash was reported at 2:47 p.m. on Route 17 near the intersection with Route 135. Estes said Pishkin was was driving a 1996 Honda Accord, which left the road on the left side, crossed the oncoming lane, and rolled over.

Estes said speed was a factor in the crash, and deputies suspect alcohol was involved as well.

“There were some food items in the car, so he may have been distracted by food in conjunction with the suspected alcohol,” Estes said.

Readfield firefighters assisted with traffic control.
