WINTHROP — A Martin Luther King Jr. Day program is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Jan. 15, at the St. Francis Xavier Parish Hall, Route 133.
The program, hosted by Winthrop Area Ministerial Association and the Capital Area Multifaith Association, will focus on the healing of relationships, in our homes, communities, nation and world. A continental breakfast will be provided.
Sherri Mitchell, a Penobscot woman who is an indigenous rights attorney, activist and teacher, will be the guest speaker/facilitator. She speaks and teaches around the world on topics ranging from indigenous rights, environmental justice, spiritual activism and the indigenous way of life. Her writing has been featured in numerous anthologies and publications. She has recently completed her first book “Sacred Instructions.”
