The Maine War Tax Resistance Resource Center has begun its annual war tax day actions around the state. Students can receive information about the organization’s Youth & Militarism Project, peace jobs for youth, truth in military recruiting and war tax resistance resources, according to a news release from the center.

Those interested in volunteering with the Maine WTR Resource Center and/or the Youth & Militarism Project or would like a presentation on peace jobs for youth at a school, should call 558-5758.

The following local WTR actions are scheduled:

• 9:30 a.m. Sunday, April 15, WTR table and workshop about Local Impacts of US Militarism (on the schools and police) at Resources for Organizing Social Change’s Youth Activism Gathering, Pine Tree Camp, Rome;

• 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 14, and Tuesday, April 17, Damariscotta Post Office;

• 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, University of Maine Maine, Farmington, student union; and

• 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, Unity College student union lobby.
