Dr. Shaw Memorial Library will sponsor its annual Bird Walk around Mount Vernon village at 4 p.m. Monday, May 14, starting at the Masonic Hall, at 353 Pond Road.

Along with lead birders, Dona Seegers and Linda Smith, those who attend can watch for song birds, water birds, birds of prey, whatever is flying, perched in a tree, or gliding on water.

Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars if available, a notebook and pen to record birds; wear comfortable shoes. Long sleeves and a hat are recommended to protect against black flies.

The walk usually takes about an hour.

Some parking is available at the Masonic Hall, as well as limited parking at the library.

For more information, call the library at 293-2565.
