The Maine Mountain Quilters will hold a quilt show in celebration of its 40th anniversary 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 19, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at Farmington Grange No. 12, 381 Mosher Hill Road in West Farmington.
The event will feature Pat Libby and many of her 200 plus quilts.
It was Libby and Virginia Morrell who organized the chapter in 1978.
Libby has been sewing and quilting for a life time. After a career as an elementary school teacher, she assisted in the Home Economics Department at UMF and even started a sewing class business called The Crooked Seam.
A donation of $5 is suggested. Chances to win a “raffle quilt” also will be available. The winner will be drawn at 2:45 p.m. Sunday.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
