I want to thank former Mayor Karen Heck and residents Jim Chiddix and Hilary Koch for their leadership in standing up to promote that our mayor conduct old-fashioned, face-to-face civil discourse and communication with Waterville residents.
A friend once shared with me the following quote from the 13th-century Persian poet Jelaluddin Rumi that I think speaks to their sentiments: “Out beyond ideas of wrong-doing and right-doing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there.”
