America today has politicians who want to be elected not to serve the public, but to serve themselves. There are many politicians who go to Washington, D.C., financially comfortable, and become in a few years multimillionaires, all on a senator’s or representative’s salary. Many are bought off by big corporations and special interests. That is the way it is in these times.

The Bible gives the proper guide to such things. Psalm 118:8 says, “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.” In verse 9, “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.” Today, it would be politicians. How true that is.
