REGATTA: Members of the Cobbosseecontee Yacht Club launch sailboats recently onto the lake from the Club in Manchester. The sailors were taking part in the fifth annual Lighthouse Regatta to celebrate the 104th anniversary of the Lighthouse on Lake Cobbosseecontee.

TRAINING EXERCISE: Manchester firefighters light a flare Wednesday night before igniting a car at Clark’s Cars & Parts in Hallowell. Firefighters from Manchester and Hallowell practiced extrication techniques on two vehicles before extinguishing a blaze in a third vehicle during a joint training exercise. Clark’s donated the cars.
