Volunteers search around a dam in Litchfield for milfoil weeds Wednesday in Purgatory Stream in Litchfield.  Volunteers with the Tacoma Lakes Improvement Society and staff with the Friends of the Cobbossee Watershed collected the invasive specie.

A man fishes on the Kennebec River in Augusta following a brief thunderstorm Thursday. Temperatures moderated into the mid-70s late in the day but are predicted to climb through the rest of the week with a chance of showers.
