Volunteers search around a dam in Litchfield for milfoil weeds Wednesday in Purgatory Stream in Litchfield.  Volunteers with the Tacoma Lakes Improvement Society and staff with the Friends of the Cobbossee Watershed collected the invasive specie.

 Todd Hessler pushes his dog Monday atop a wakeboard in Hallowell.  Hessler, of Gardiner, said his dog, who was rescued before he owned him, endured his first introduction to water with flying colors.  “He surprised me,” Hessler said.  “He has a lot of faith in me.”
