Bill Stewart has been the sports editor at the Morning Sentinel and Kennebec Journal since 2014. A Massachusetts native, he graduated from the University of Maine in 1999 with a BA in Journalism. He also worked at the Republican-American (Waterbury, Connecticut) and Eagle-Tribune (Lawrence, Massachusetts). CLASS A BASEBALL: Messalonskee back in state title game
Messalonskee (13-6) upended the top three seeds — Bangor, Hampden and Oxford Hills — by a combined 13-6 score to reach the Class A state title game for a second straight year. The Eagles will play Westbrook (16-3) at 2 p.m. Saturday at Morton Field.
