STILL LIFE: Strike up the band

New England Music Camp will offer a pops concert on Aug. 4 at the Messalonskee Performing Arts Center in Oakland at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $20 at the door. There are concerts at the Bowl at the camp on Au5. 5, 11 and 12 at 3 p.m. that are free and open to the public.

STILL LIFE: Car runs into Waterville building

A woman comforts the female driver, sitting, of a vehicle that struck an outside wall at the Oak Grove Center in Waterville on Sunday, causing damage to the wall and vehicle. Waterville police Sgt. Alan Main said the driver was visiting the center and may have hit the gas instead of the brake. Rescue personnel were called to check on a resident who was inside the room where the vehicle struck.

STILL LIFE: Shot in the back, but it’s OK

Noah McMahon, left, blasts Camden Herrick with a water gun while cooling off at Lake George Regional Park in Canaan on a hot and humid Friday. The beach was packed with swimmers and sunbathers. Ranger Jeff McCabe said close to 500 people visited beaches at the park on both sides of the lake.

STILL LIFE: Wall of art

Common Street Art Gallery Project Coordinator Emilie Knight hangs artwork at the new Waterville gallery on Common Street on Tuesday. Knight said there will be a soft opening this Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the new exhibit, food, drinks and music. The art exhibit will be available for viewing through August.
