Randy Davis, 46, of Leicester, Mass., was charged with criminal trespass and mischief after U.S. Border Patrol agents found him asleep on the floor of Bishop’s Store in Jackman.

Bonnie Jean Tanguay, 34, of Cole Grove Road, was taken into custody later, and the deputy was not injured.

There are 36 applicants for the job, which became available when John Doucette Jr. resigned in December, but selectmen hope to reduce the number to six soon.
